Eurolingo quiz – European Day of Languages 26 September

26th September is the European Day of Languages – celebrating linguistic diversity in our continent.

Try the Eurolingo quiz prepared by colleagues in Gloucester for a chance to win some Europe Direct goodies. Completed quizzes should be emailed to europe.direct@durham.gov.uk by 5.00pm. on Friday 27th September.  County Hall quiz

Winners will be notified on Monday 30th September.

    I hope Esperanto won’t be forgotten on the big day.

    I would like to argue the case for wider use of Esperanto. It is a planned language which belongs to no one country or group of states.

    Esperanto works! I’ve used it in speech and writing in about fifteen countries over recent years. I recommend it to any traveller, as a way of making friendly local contacts.
