Our classrooms global lens flyer
Colleagues from across our region will share best practice case studies of how classroom learning supports pupils’ social and cultural development and reinforces British Values.
We will consider how schools can offer every child a meaningful international learning experience to prepare them for life both in Global Britain and beyond these shores. Time is set aside for group discussion about the importance of reflecting on our local community and its connections with other parts of the world. We will make links between pupil achievement and the offer of an enriched global curriculum. Practical information will be given about resources and funding schemes, which can support the development of an international perspective to learning.
We will also suggest positive steps, which schools may take to build cohesive communities and to involve parents and carers from different backgrounds and cultures in school based global learning.
The British Council’s International School Award programme will be presented as a tool to develop and embed international work in school life.
