Diwali 2020 – online workshops for schools

We have been working with partners in the region to prepare a special series of videos to be shown around the time of Diwali (November 14^th) to offer an insight into the Hindu faith and celebrations as well as South Asian culture in general.

The first video will feature a visit to the Hindu temple in Newcastle and interviews with local families. Its showing will be timed to be followed by a live question and answer session.

The two other videos will be able to be viewed by schools at a time which is convenient to them. One features storytelling and puppetry, the other; a lively dance workshop.

The programmes were designed initially for primary aged pupils but can be accessed by junior secondary and special school pupils.
