The International Office organises five and six day visits to France and Germany with a language learning focus for pupils in Years 5/6 and 7/8.

We also organise battlefields visits to the Somme area for secondary school pupils.

Our groups are accommodated in tried and tested pupil friendly and risk assessed accommodation. Travel is by local luxury coach and by ferry.

An itinerary which allows pupils to make use of their language skills and discover the country is prepared by our office. Learning adventure packs are available to every pupil.

Prices will vary depending on length of stay and size of group. For a quotation, please contact karen.smith@durham.gov.uk

Can’t visit France at the moment ? Then let France come to you.

Help your pupils regain confidence and improve their skills on a virtual visit using material adapted from the resource above.

We have created four situational activities with teachers notes and resources to support learning.

• Breakfast

• Buying an ice cream or a crêpe

• At the market

• Tasting French food

Activities are linked to working towards meeting the targets of the KS2 Programme of Study. You may choose to use these individually or collectively.
